Susan's Quilt: 23 Jan 2021

This is the back of a lap quilt made for a friend. Above is a closeup of the professional quilting. Easiest to see on the back of the quilt
Here is the label
Closeup of Leonard's block. It's a very pretty block I think.
You can see the quilting on the top of the quilt too.
Now here is the whole lap quilt made for a friend. Leonard gave me the yellow and red blocks already put together. All I had to do was expand the quilt by putting on a couple of borders.

Masks: 1 Jan 2021

Things is getting bad here again. Let's hope they can control the outbreak. Borders slamming shut everywhere. My plane ticket to the Gold Coast is in doubt. Looks like I've done my money. A friend has had bad news. His Dad in England is terminally ill and he's trying to get on a plane. Will I make A mask for him please?

I scratched around looking for the pattern for the MEN'S mask, found it, dug out my trusty checks and whipped up five masks for him for the journey. Still gotta put the elastic on them but that will only take a minute. It's a good mask pattern because it covers the nose and goes right under the chin. It's also very quick and easy to make. I have made at least 50 of these. Mine are wearing out now so I'd better get in and make some more. I think masks will be around for a very long time yet, long after Covid 19. Since we know  that  masks can prevent infection why not for the common cold and the flu? The Japanese were wearing  masks in 1970 when I was there and now I think much of the world will continue to do so.

Footstool Cover: 1 Jan 2021

I've recently redecorated the living area of my apartment in blue and white. A protective cover was needed for the footstool as it is in constant use. Suze had given me a linen tea towel which was far too pretty to use drying dishes so I converted it into a throwover for the footstool.
